When the Bakery first opened 12 years ago, the idea of providing a community center sat firmly in the center of the nest of intentions that includes providing jobs and making a living with the enterprise. Happily the blend of objectives has worked out nicely. Grassroots organizations regularly use the cafe to hold meetings, business partners have discussions over lunch, amateur musicians perform on the same stage as professionals with international fame, many fundraisers have been held for people in need and various organizations have publicly presented their material. Continuing its reputation as a venue for community gatherings and great music, the Amazing Grace is a place where people can enjoy a leisurely atmosphere for refreshment and comaraderie. The Bakery has an ongoing series of special events scheduled for the upcoming weeks. When customers scan the amazing collection of musician portraits hanging around the bake shop, they see an impressive history of musicians that continues today. Many of them are internationally reknown. Many are locals who should be. For a sound sample of recent music at the Grace click here. The Cafe is a venue with a living room feeling where people can enjoy fine musicians up close. The Grace is an all-ages venue that is family friendly. Bakery owner Chip Stewart says, "The Bakery smells are as sweet as the first rains of Spring. It's perfect for hanging out with friends and listening to music." On warm sunny days the sidewalk patio is enjoyable as well. And sometimes there are musicians out there too. |
